New Jersey Senior Services-Area Agencies on Aging

Senior citizens living in New Jersey are eligible for a number of different services, programs and benefits. Most of the services are provided through the State of New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services' Division of Aging and Community Services and individual Area Agencies on Aging located in each of the twenty-one counties of the state. The Department of Health and Senior Services assists each of the counties in the development and coordination of the various services provided to seniors aged sixty years old and over.

  • Meals provided in group settings or delivered to homes in certain circumstances
  • Subsidized housing for low income seniors
  • Congregate housing with service coordination and supportive services such as meals, personal assistance and housekeeping for low income seniors who qualify
